Just got back from seeing the Speed Racer movie

To anyone who's even slightly interested in seeing the movie but haven't done so yet, you should. =) Especially at the theaters where it'll be way bigger than life than it could be on a DVD tv release in my opinion. It's an incredible experience in many fun and fulfilling ways.
Being a fan of the animated series, I was skeptical about a live action movie being made, but I had no negativity towards the movie once I got to see it.

i want to see it D: if not only for the special effects. The reviews it received were terrible because of the plot (or lack of one), so it kind of makes me a bit iffy

all that aside though, i still want to see it

I was hesitant to read any reviews or opinions about the movie, I wanted to have my own.
I'm glad you still want to see it regardless of what you've heard about the plot, I hope you like it!

That's not too strange, cuz I think that the movie production was so well that it could gain appeal from not just the animated series fans, but from the movie goers who didn't watch or like the animated series.
It was that good of a film!

Well The Dark Knight and Indiana Jones don't premiere for a little while, whereas Speed Racer is out right now. Maybe you'll score some loot to see the other movies by the time that they come out?

Hmm...
My parents are both fans of the old cartoon. (I haven't seen enough to really experience the cartoon to say the same.)
They were told not to waste their money on it by more than one person... :S
(I assume my father is going to wait until it comes out on DVD because of this.)
I wonder if there is a way to convince them otherwise...
